Position Summary

The Business Analyst ensures Forthright’s business systems operate effectively, evolve intelligently, and support organizational goals. This is a business-facing role, not a technical or IT position.

You will work closely with business stakeholders and end users to understand needs, document requirements, support testing, and help shape system enhancements. While technical knowledge is important, this role does not involve software development, system design, or IT implementation.

Note: Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily in software development, system architecture, or IT-side technical roles will not be a fit for this position.


Key Responsibilities

  • System Expertise: Develop a strong working knowledge of Forthright’s business systems, including customer-facing platforms, internal tools, and AI-enabled features
  • Business Requirements: Gather, document, review, and refine business and system requirements; identify gaps and ensure clarity and alignment
  • Enhancement Input: Provide thoughtful input and recommendations for system enhancements and new features, with a focus on usability and business value
  • User Testing & Validation: Plan, coordinate, and execute user testing to validate system updates prior to deployment
  • Documentation & Training: Create and maintain clear documentation for system processes, enhancements, and AI-related workflows; support user training as needed
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Serve as a bridge between business users and IT teams to communicate needs, changes, and feedback
  • AI & Innovation: Support the identification and implementation of practical AI use cases to improve efficiency and workflows, with leadership guidance
  • Technology Awareness: Stay current on emerging tools and technologies and share ideas for continuous improvement

Qualifications & Experience

  • 4–5 years of experience in business systems, process improvement, operations, or legal operations
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in or exposure to the legal industry is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with natural curiosity
  • Excellent communication skills; able to translate between business users and technical teams
  • Comfortable conducting user testing, troubleshooting issues, and gathering actionable feedback
  • Highly organized and methodical in documentation, ticket tracking, and enhancement requests
  • AI-forward mindset with interest in automation and efficiency tools
  • Quick learner who values mentorship and is comfortable asking questions
  • Enjoys helping others and improving how systems support real work

Work Environment

  • Small company with 30 employees
  • Hybrid role working onsite at the St. Louis Park, MN office two to three days per week
